05.09.2025 – All Patients (Education on diet, exercise & heart diseases prevention).
Today at Cassidy Medical Centre, we held an educational event for all our patients focusing on diet, exercise, and the prevention of heart disease. The aim of the session was to raise awareness about the importance of lifestyle choices in maintaining long-term health and preventing cardiovascular conditions, which remain one of the leading health challenges both locally and nationally.
The event was a great success, with many patients attending and engaging in discussions. Our Health Care Assistant (Salma) and PCN Dietitian (Niloofar) were present to provide expert advice, practical tips, and answer patient questions. Together, they offered valuable information on:
The role of balanced nutrition in supporting heart health.
How regular exercise can reduce risk factors such as high blood pressure and cholesterol.
Small, sustainable lifestyle changes that can make a big difference to overall wellbeing.
Signposting to wider support services available through the practice and the PCN.
Patients commented that the session was both informative and motivating; with some sharing that, they felt more confident about making healthier choices after attending. Information leaflets and resources were also provided for patients to take home, ensuring the learning continues beyond the event.
